OK. So I recently changed my goals. I've decided to focus less on losing weight (since I already passed my goal of 120 lbs) and focus more on toning the muscle I have and if I lose more then whatever but I'm not focused on that. I'm still eating at a deficit to get myself into maintenance mode mentally, but I also know that it's not possible to gain muscle while eating at a deficit. Is it possible to tone muscle and decrease body fat at the same time? I'm a total newbie with the specifics behind lifting so if it's a dumb questions I'm sorry.

You don't really "tone" a muscle. In order to get that "tone" or defined look that you want then you have to keep dropping your body fat % :flowerforyou:0

I am kind of in the same boat as you by the way. Scale is getting low but im not defined like I want to be. Im going to continue to cut (lifting heavy of course) Then by the end of the year I am going to bulk :] eating at a calorie surplus so I can put on some muscle mass. Then cut down the fat again. Gonna be looking sexy!0

Yes, first lower body fat and with strength training you will see tone and definition. I used to work out and diet with my brother's wrestling buddies in highschool, and I was JACKED but I remember in the beginning there was an emphasis on protein uptake and lowering body fat first.0
