Does using the incline burn more calories?

I do at lease 5% incline while on the treadmill but I don't know how to incorporate that into my calorie burning. I don't want to say it's uphill because it really isn't, just an incline. Anyone have any ideas?

I do it all the way up sometimes (hill walking)-you have to wear a HRM to be accurate.:flowerforyou:
  • Everyone always talks about the HRMs but I really don't know a thing about using one. I guess I will look into it. Thanks!!
  • When i do an incline I usually burn more calories, but i'm sure it depends on the incline and how fast you are going etc.

I love my heart rate monitor I got the polar f4 at target 89.99- tells you how many calories you burn how long you spent in your target zone. your min heart rate and your max heart rate during your workout session it also calculates your totals of workout times and calories burnt- no more guesstimating for me now I just know how much I burned

Plus its good when your working out and you know you need to kick it up a notch cause your heart rate is going to low or that you need to slow it down cause its going to high.
