I've been stuck at 150-152 for WEEKS now, but I'm finally losing again!

Today, I got a random text from a friend asking if I wanted to go workout. When I asked her what she wanted to do, she voted for jogging, weights, and swimming. I am not a swimmer, so that was out. I told her I was totally up for jogging, and she could feel free to leave me, because I've never gotten past three minutes without needing to pass out. True story. I felt less guilty by just giving her the go ahead to do her workout.

We get to the gym and decide on a random session of rock climbing (I touched the top for the first time!!!), then we hit the weights. (I posses NO upper body strength with weights, yet I held myself by a tiny rock for longer than ten seconds...what?)

Then the jogging came. She thought it would be best to go on treadmills next to each other so we could do our own thing but still be by each other. Ok, cool, sounds like a great idea, let's go.

She starts walking. I'm fiddling with a new armband holding my music (it actually FITS MY ARM NOW!!!). She starts a slight speed walk, and I start my warm up. I'm nervous because I haven't jogged in a while, but after thirty seconds, I got bored. So I glanced at her display---a light jog at 4.3. Okay, I can dig it. Cool.

So I turn my speed up to that and just relax into it as much as possible, drifting into the land of Basshunter and DDR sountracks...until I notice her looking at me strangely. What happened? Did I sing out loud or something? I look all around and my eyes hit the display...6:00!!!!

Two songs have already passed?! I've been jogging for five minutes?! I NEVER go five minutes!!!

I'm really freaking happy. I'm sorry that was so long. But I hit runner's high for the first time today as well, so I'm still kinda strung out...

New runners/joggers? It's not impossible! You CAN like something other than a speed walk! :D

  • Awesome job!!!
I'm totally not a runner either but I've started, and it DOES feel so awesome when you realize you've been running for way longer than you thought you could! way to go =D
