About Me
I am a fan. A fan of food & drink. I love cheap food, expensive food, fresh food, day old pizza food; I love food. I also love beer. I love cheap beer, I love expensive beer, I especially love well crafted microbrews; I love beer. It is this passion that has carried me to where I am today. Well, I'm not sure 'carried' is the best terminology as it would be pretty difficult to carry me anywhere at this point. Nonetheless, I have indulged in this love for over 10 years and finally I have reached the point where I recognize not all love is created equal. I can no longer be in a committed relationship with unhealthy food & drink. I will always love them, but the bad out weighs the good so this is my divorce decree. I will remember them fondly, maybe visit here & there, but for the most part it's time to say goodbye.

Why I Want To Get In Shape
I *NEED* to know what it feels like to be able to throw on any item of clothing and know that a) it'll fit b) look fine & c) not make me self-conscious. I *NEED* to know what it feels like to not think about my weight every single day. I *NEED* to be able to buy all the cute clothes I know I'd look good in but can't because as of today, I wouldn't. I *NEED* to move on.

  • Well said. I'm taking your post as a personal message to myself, some motivation to get my *kitten* moving and pay attention to what goes in to my big mouth. Thanks for the kick in the butt.

The only thing worse than being a fan of food and drink, is to have the passion for making all kinds of foods! Welcome to MFP it is definately a great place to start! Congratulations on taking the first step!

This is me exactly. And it is exactly what I had to do. I've convinced myselft that the benefits of long-lasting health and fitness outweigh the momentary enjoyment of food and drink.
