I bought some of these yesterday and want to make them for lunch. A few weeks ago I saw a couple of delicious recipes posted on here, under the title "Delicious meal for under 200 calories" or something like that. It had the noodles, some diced steak and a few other ingredients. Like an idiot I did not bookmark or comment. Anyone know where that recipe is? I found a bunch online, but I really want the one I read on here. Thanks so much!

Don't know if you've had them before, but DO NOT SNIFF them before you rinse them and rinse them THOROUGHLY!! An early sniff can turn you off as can doing a poor rinse job. I like them, but I have a pal who was traumatized and can't eat them!

I use them in anything that I would normally use pasta in- ENJOY!
  • There are many things that can be done with this. One of my favorite items is

Hungry Girl has a lot of recipes for tofy shiratake noodles. The biggest thing i suggest when first using is to rinse the noodles for atleast 2 min on warm water. This will for sure get the smell of the liquid that they are stored in. When using also in any dish i recommend soaking them in some of liquid youll be cooking with. For the Alfredo recipe i like soaking them in 1/4 cup almond milk. This thickens then noodles alittle when you add them to pan and it imparts some flavor to the noodles. The noodles themselves are very plain. They take the flavor of whatever you add them to. One other thing..take some cooking shears and cut them once or twice. You can get some really long noodles sometimes which makes eating difficult. Hope this helps and i will be posting all my recipes soon here. I have been using myfitnesspal for over yr and hungry girl also and now have lost 220lbs.
  • does anyone know where I can buy these in the uk? seem to struggle to find them even on the net but dont want to have to import from the states :-/

I rinsed them so many times...the smell didn't get to me.

    It was the texture

I don't know what it is...but...it just didn't do well for me :P
  • I don't know where you can get them outside the US. But in the US, Ralphs / Kroger, Sprouts, Henrys and Whole Foods all carry these noodles.

Try a healthfood store. . I get mine at Sprouts Market, and I'll bet Trader Joes probably has them too, or Whole Foods.

True, they smell TERRIBLE. Rinse under cold water before and after cooking them, for like a solid 5 minutes.
