Anyone have the Saving Dinner books by Leanne Ely.

I know she has some published ones, and then I think some ebooks.

I'm thinking I want to get her Freezer menus (I love foods that freeze good so that I can pull them out for a quick fix later)....but the idea that there is like 4 volumes at $20 each makes me feel iffy.

Wondering if anyone has her books, if they like them, if a lot of her recipes are low calorie etc.

THANKS!

I've never heard of them, so thanks for posting! My library has them - I'll check them out there first. :)

I don't have those books (actually never heard of them), but we have something called "The Learning Exchange" and it's basically an adult learning center. Like school for adults... most classes are 1-3 days long (not the entire day, but a few hours). Anyway, they offer a freezer cooking class that is supposed to teach you how to shop, cook, and freeze dinners for an entire month in one day! I'm taking the class in February. Maybe look into something like this around your area?? Hope this helps.

Good idea to check them out at the library! You can then either decide to buy the book if you like it, continue checking it out, or make copies of the recipes you like and put them into a binder of your own!

i have saving dinner and i really like it. i was able to pick it up used on amazon for around $5! one of my favorite recipes ever cam from that book: spicy chicken with pineapple avocado salsa... sounds icky, but it tastes great!

there are a lot of fish recipes that i don't use, and i never use a whole week so i can't really use the grocery lists, but it is a good book to have for trying new decently healthy food recipes. :-)

if you have any questions, feel free to send me a message!

I think that class sounds really neat. We don't have anything like that around me though (heck we don't have anything good here lol)

also, occasionally she sends e-mails that have the freezer meals reduced by about half.... if you sign up for the newsletters, you'll be sure to know about the deals!
