Ok... So, my office is having a Thanksgiving lunch today!!! I didn't know about it. So, here's what's on the menu: Turkey, Ham, Cornbread Dressing, Green Beans, Corn, Gravy, and Rolls. I love green beans and corn, so no problem with the veggies. Which is better: Turkey or Ham? and Cornbread Dressing or Rolls?

Turkey is lower on sodium. Ham and turkey are pretty close on the calorie counts (I eat one or the other for lunch every day). Go to town on the green beans if they're fresh, (lots of sodium in canned green beans). Corn is a starchy veggie, so I'd recommend going light on that. Now, cornbread dressing or rolls.... It's about 150-200 calories no matter which one you choose. I'd go dressing, cause you can have a smaller serving of it.

For me, go with the ham always. I'm allergic to turkey :P

I say eat what you want and then take the rest of the afternoon off and do laps around the building. Thats what I would do.

Turkey is a leaner meat than ham and I would guess that rolls would have less calories than cornbread.

I have the same problem my office Christmas part is a week after thanksgiving and I am just planning to enjoy myself self and watch the portions and hopefully it will be fine.
