Cause & Effect

I noticed that along this weight-loss/get healthy journey a number of positive cause & effect moments. I thought I'd share the few that came to mind, and would love to hear the ones you have noticed!

* Buying an easy to drink from water bottle - I have found that since I bought a water bottle that is easy to operate and drink from I have seen my water consumption double. I just needed a 32oz bottle that had a larger opening so I could gulp, guzzle, and chug the water (as I enjoy doing). Prior to this I had these bottles with little nozzles that basically made me feel like a hamster drinking from a cage bottle.

* Taking supplements - As part of the 'get healthy' portion of the program I started taking a number of supplements throughout the entire day. This requires a good amount of water just to take the pills, plus some supplements require to be taken with at least 16oz of water; this done twice a day = 32oz water minimum just for that!

* Drink so much dang water - Talk about equal and opposite reaction...drinking all that water requires many trips to the bathroom/loo/water closet which is forced walking. It dawned on me as I walked to the nearest restroom at work that instead of walking the, say 50 steps to the restroom, instead walk the 500 steps to the restroom down the hall. This isn't much per se, but every little gain helps the bigger picture, eh?!

I'm sure there are tons more but these are just a few I wanted to post about; can't wait to hear yours!

I have found that lifting heavy things a bunch of times, and hitting my macros, makes me look better =)

    I have found that

    * aerobic exercise makes me lose weight pretty quickly and helps keep it off.
    * focusing on healthy foods makes it really easy to get adequate amounts of nutrients and still have room for wine in my calories.

Those 2 things are all I need to worry about.
  • Yeah, I guess I was really focused on happy accidents of doing the right thing. Obviously eating right & exercise will help one lose weight, feel/look better, but it's the unintential plusses that come from the right things we're doing that I found interesting.
