There are so many things I used to do but have let them go for one reason or another. I used to run, but at 215 lbs that was a lifetime ago. I used to write, time and energy got in the way of that too. At the beginning of March I woke up and decided I was done thinking about the things I used to do and I joined MFP. I started this journey at 215 lbs, lethargic, and totally unhappy with myself. Not unhappy with my life, I have a wonderfully supportive husband and a beautiful daughter, but unhappy with how I felt about Me.

I started with simply writing down everything I put in my mouth and I was shocked at how much I was eating, most of it without even being hungry. Once I felt I had that under control I started walking on my lunch break a couple days a week. By the end of March I had lost 8 lbs!

This summer I did things I never thought a 39 year old Me would do…I rode a zip line, I went cliff jumping with my daughter, I learned to wakeboard, and I’m running again. I feel better than I have in a long time and it gets better every day.

It's hard, don't get me wrong, but I have found in my life that the things I treasure most were the ones I worked the hardest for. Whatever your own goals are, they are not impossible, nothing is. Keep your chin up and your feet moving and you will get where you are going.
