Open group, if you are interested in trying "Spiking" for weight loss check out the group.

The plan is we trick our body into keeping metabolism from dropping by having a surplus of calories one day every week.

The basic guidelines are:
BMR for daily calorie goals 6 days a week
Spike Day, once a week at 2X(BMR)

Spike Day is the day you fit in your favorite junk food to keep you happy and honest the other 6 days.

so you're basically having a cheat meal once a week?

eating right at your BMR sounds a bit low to me for 6 days a week too.

    i don't see this working.

It may not be for everyone, but it works. There are many people getting shredded with it.

BMR isn't low if you get your calories from the right sources. You will give your body what it needs and not feel hungry.

Sounds like you're trying to make money off of a fad diet to me.
Not okay to use this site to promote your website.

And yes, eating at your BMR is a pretty low number. I'd feel like garbage if I ate around 1500 calories 6 days a week.
You can't eat at BMR and be an active person.

Good luck with your scamming/fitness goals of 2011.

Not really a "fad", I've personally lost over 100lbs. My bodyfat percentage is in the single digits, and there's quite a few others who are doing great too.
I've also kept the weight off for over 7 years, not quite the definition of a fad.

My BMR is 2,200, most guys are 1,800+ and women are 1,500+

I've been spiking for nearly 2 months now and the fat is dropping, I eat 500 calories below my BMR on days I don't work out and at my BMR on days I do. I'm never hungry and some days have a hard time getting all of my calories in.

Russell is just making people aware of the group which wasn't even started by him.

PS - Look at the link, it's a MFP link, not to his website.
