I have been on MFP for about 6 months now and I have lost 68 pounds
I am down 5 pants sizes and 2 shirt sizes
I am running my first 5k this weekend
overall I feel great
BUT
I have been at a plateau for about 3 weeks now and it is really started to suck - shockingly it is my first one since I began this journey!
I am keeping up with my routine changing things around a little and trying not to get discouraged
I have about 40 more pounds to go to my goal and would love to add some new friends I usually delete after 30 days of being inactive so my friends list is getting smaller by the day
Stats
SW: 270.5
CW: 203
GW:165
I work out 5 days a week doing cardio and weight training
Friend me if you have similar goals or ideas to help with getting over this plateau

If you want to, friend me
I've been on MFP for a year+ (but took off 6 months when I was living overseas). I've lost about 40lbs since starting, almost 80 since my heaviest, but still have about 40 to go.0 -
You Lost 68 Lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <-- LIke a Boss!
Just a suggestion.. Your diary doesn't show any snacks.. Have you tried some small snacks to help metabolism? I don't have all the answers unfortunately... but just a suggestion..0 -
I checked your diary and you're running a good deficit but you're still eating about 1300 net cals/day ("NCD"). 1300 is a fair amount of food. In fact, some folks here will gain weight at that level!
When I was losing weight (I started at 295) I went with 800 to 1k NCD even though I am taller and heavier than you. There's nothing wrong with 1300 NCD — you will lose weight — but I had a great, and rapid, weight loss at a much lower level.

Low calorie diets work very well for a lot of people* so you might like to try it. If it doesn't work for you, try something else. If your body responds to it, you could well drop weight like a stone!
Debbie and I were talking about weight loss at dinner last night (it's a common topic for us!) and she brought up something that I commented on the other day. Even when you're eating a low calorie level, you body is still getting calories.
Huh?
Yes, you are getting calories but they're not coming from what's in the 'fridge. The calories are coming from food stores in your body — it's called "fat" and the exact reason why your body stores fat is to provide your body with fuel when there's not enough to eat.
Our bodies do some great things but they are not "smart" meaning they don't know "Oh, this is just a diet. I don't need to metabolize any fat 'cause I know I can get Sally to eat those Oreos instead!".
And when your body needs fuel it's going to get it! The brain will tell us to eat but, if you don't, it will get the energy from its internal storage (body fat).
<swerving back on topic>
So, try dropping you cals and see what results you get (don't forget to weigh every day!)
*Please folks, don't get all wiggy and tell the OP that she'll go into "starvation mode" at that calorie level — reality tells us otherwise.
My GF runs a Lindora clinic here in SoCal. Lindora has been in business for over 40 years and they have helped hundreds of thousands of people lose weight. They put their patients on a diet of 800 to 1000 cals per day and, when people follow their program, most people lose 10% of their body weight in 10 weeks.0 -
I have considered trying a low calorie diet for a week or two just to see if it helps - in the beginning when I ate too little I gained BUT that was 68 pounds ago and my body has changed A LOT!!
I think I am going to give it a try!
As for snacking I am not a big snacker it seems to make me more hungry but that might be an idea too - losing weight is such a game of strategy - I am totally going to figure this out and kick it into high gear!
