I really really want to loose weight, but when it comes to working out, i have no motivation at all. Doesn't help that its freezing outside, but it is going to warm up soon. Anyways i could use some support and motivation. I also need to drink more water, i havent been doing that lately. And i need to kick the sweet tooth cravings of candy hearts, i hate valentines day, i love candy hearts and this is the only time of the year to get them and i just eat way too many.

So i am going to start working out again. Take my dog for walks, ride my stationary bike and do 30 min shred. I also want to get a exercise ball. So time to get serious about this.

It is hard I know but you have to get the mindset that you are worth it! You are worth taking the time and making the effort to exercise and even if you don't like walking, it will make you feel better when you done. I promise!!! :flowerforyou:

The human body was meant for moving. Exercise should become a regular part of your LIFE. The pros outweigh the cons. It will help you physically and mentally. Find a workout buddy, listen to music that pumps you up, partake in activites that you enjoy and be ready to move on b/c your body will ask for more! Good luck!
  • i love that on here you get extra calories for working out. that motivates me. i know its hard getting started, but you have to make it part of your routine, not just something you have to fit in. for me, i wake up at 5am, make breakfast for husband, send him off, pop in my dvd, then wake up the kiddos.

Welcome back to the game  Just a tip, if you really like candy hearts, count or measure out a serving and enjoy it, just don't eat a ton! Everything in moderation right? I've foudn that with weight loss, you just have to jump right in with both legs! A little bit of dedication and patience are all you really need! (and a little bit of MFP, ) Good luck to you :drinker:

    I know how you feel.
My advice is stick with it. It will get easier and I was surprised to learn that I love to work out. I mean the thought of going to the gym sucks but I am always so happy I went. The high is amazing!

Also, try adding things like crystal lite to your water. I have also started drinking water at work and it has become a habit.

One last piece of advice. Motivation for me was the biggest issue. I always had an excuse for not working out and eating healthy. I hired a trainer and it made a world of difference. Having someone I had to meet and report to made me accountable for my actions. I know it is expensive and I couldn't afford to keep my trainer for long, but there are some good deals out there for intro packages. I learnt so much and it really helped me kick start my workout routine. It gave me the chance to realize I enjoyed the gym. I probably wouldn't have had as much success without the training.

Good luck and keep your chin up. It gets easier and you soon realize how worth it it is. Not just for weightloss but just how good you will feel.

I found that group workout classes keep me very motivated. They're pretty fun, I burn more calories in less time (about 500 in an hour on average) and I can't stop because everyone else will see it as giving up and they'll know. I go with my roommate and some girls down the hall, and I've made friends there too. Zumba (Sunday and Monday) is one of my favorite parts of the week!

    Good luck! :flowerforyou:

When I am feeling unmotivated, I try not to think about it. I don't think about going to the gym. I don't think about whether I'm tired, or bored with my routine, or that I want to watch some show on TV. I stop listening to my lazy inner voice because I know it's like the drunk friend who's a bad influence on me. I just get my clothes on and go on 'auto pilot'. When I get to the gym, I work that much harder to quiet that voice down. I check myself out in the mirror until my sexy voice speaks up and says "Hey, great job you sexy beast."
