  • There's an entire chapter in the book 4-hour Body by Tim Ferriss explaining this phenomenon. I won't explain it because I get sh*tbagged whenever I mention it but if you want the book, PM me your email addy and i'll send it to you.

Impossible to say for sure without more information. What are you eating now, and what did your previous diet consist of? How much are you exercising? What was your diet like previous to this? How much sleep are you getting, how much water are you drinking? Do you have any medical conditions? Etc, etc, etc...

How long ago did you have the baby, and are you breastfeeding?

If you're breastfeeding it uses a heap of calories, so many! So you feel like eating eating eating, some people say it helps them lose weight (not for me, I kept eating lol)
And depending on how long ago you had the baby, I'm willing to bet the body getting back to it's normal self also boosts the metabolism, getting all those muscles back to normal etc.

In a way you've "shocked" your body. It still attempts to maintain homeostasis and thus burns off all these additional calories. Do not expect the weightloss to continue and do NOT temporarily "quit"... switch to maintenance go for it, but do not consume more junk. Do your body some good.

If you are breastfeeding, I was the exact same way. At my son's first birthday I was 15 pounds lighter than before I was pregnant, but people looked at me and thought I was ill. I ate constantly. I was so so skinny and had such a cute, fat, little baby that we had a joke that I could eat whatever I wanted and it would go straight to my son's hips! Second baby was totally different. Still working on losing that baby fat....

You may be losing weight for now, but please dont lose sight of why we change our lifestyles.

Think of wieght loss as a 'symptom' of a healthier lifestyle. You may be losing weight at the moment, but think about whether you are improving your health with this way of eating. The number on the scale is NOT a true indicator of your health...
