Startig 30DS - advice needed!

Hi MFPs

Ive been hearing a lot about 30DS so im going to start it on Sunday. Day 30 will be the day I fly out for a 3 week beach holiday over christmas and new year, so I hope I see good results!! I have a few questions for those who have done it. If during those 30 days I go away one weekend, will it make much difference if I do 2 workouts on one day and miss on another? And have any of you done anything else whilst doing the 30DS, eg; running/swimming? Also, do you have any diet tips to follow whilst doing it, to help with achieving best possible results?

    Good luck on doing the 30DS! I missed 4 days total during the month, and just added them onto the end. I felt like I would have more value by working out more days versus twice in one day, since you're doing the exact same thing. It's up to you though. I didn't do much of anything while doing the shred - one of my days off I went for a long bike ride and some tennis, but that's about it. I know some people like to add some extra cardio.

    From what I understand it's basically like any other exercise - the more you do it, the better you will get, but you still may need rest periods at times for your body to recover. I wouldn't stress over having to miss a day here or there. I started the 30DS yesterday and I already know I'm not going to be able to do 30 days in a row - I'm going to be hurting tomorrow and I have 2 kids to keep up with. I'm just going to do it as often as I'm able, w/o injuring myself. LOL :-)

    Alot of people normally recommend doing cardio with 30 DS.
    I was doing 20 minutes of Zumba and 30 DS together. I was seeing good results. I had lost about 4 pounds.

    Unfortunately. When I went back to school I was unable to keep up the routine so I am unable to lay claim to the long term results.

    I try to get in three different works total a day. 30DS is one of them. Then I do two other things for a workout, normally two different videos or parts of videos. Feel free to add me as a friend if you want to see what I do for my work out. I post every day a new blog from working out.
  • I still cycle, walk and run, like I did before, but I've added the 30 Day Shred DVD into my daily routine. I'm up to Day 7 Level 1 and I haven't missed any days. I don't see why you can't do it twice in one day!

    Depends on your fitness level. I did 30DS yesterday and today I can tell how out of shape I am. LOL I am *hurting*. Taking a day for recovery, just going to do the treadmill today b/c it's obvious my body needs a break to get used to this new level of activity. So I say listen to your body and go with what works for you. Hopefully after doing it a few more times I'll be able to do it w/o any breaks.
