NSV in the form of confidence!

Today, I'm going to a M.U.N meeting which is basically a Model United Nations which students in my age use to develop their understanding of the United Nations and how it works, etc. Not that interesting!
What's interesting is that we have a strict dress code. A strict black blazer over a white shirt and black pants. When they first said that, I dreaded it. Standing next to lots of skinny girls in the same outfit, feeling like a blob of fat for not being as slender as them.
But I feel really good! My outfit looks way better than I would've ever expected! I still look curvy, but in a good way which has never happened to me before; instead of looking flabby, I'm looking like an adult. A small NSV, but I've never felt this good in any outfit before. Finally some confidence!
Anyone else who's experienced something like this?

That's awesome, well done you!
I suggest trying not to compare yourself with others. We all have different good points and probably all of us notice bits about ourselves that no-one else notices at all! From your profile pic you're a very pretty girl with great hair! Enjoy your own brand of beauty while working on the bits that you're not so fond of, but for your own benefit, not to look like everyone else!0 -

Thank you! Yes, not comparing myself with others is my ultimate challenge since I've been doing it for so long, everyday, everywhere. But I feel as if I'm at least starting to think more positive when I do - I no longer think "gosh, why can't I be that skinny?" but "I'm almost as skinny as her". I know, comparing is never good, but at least it's not so destructive anymore. And thank you for the compliment! :happy:0 -
Good you're making progress, but how about 'I'm not a skinny as her, but I've got great hair!" (or whatever).
I'm an hourglass shape so folks used to be jealous of my flat tummy but I've always had shocking flabby arms and straight up and down legs. (My legs are much better after some exercise, but will never be my strong point). I dress to flatter my shape and highlight the good bits.
People are also jealous that I have very thin hair on my legs so waxing doesn't hurt and I don't have to do it much (TMI?) But, that means I've got very thin hair on my head and short, thin eyelashes! It's all swings and roundabouts!0 -
That is an awesome NSV. It feels good to fit into our clothes better.0
