I just learned about the C25K. Any suggestions on it Jude? I have asthma, so I've gotta be careful. But I need to lose this weight cause I'm getting married next year.

I gave C25K a go as I've always wanted to be a runner, I've just never been very good at running for any length of time. I don't personally have asthma so I can't comment on that. However, I found the programme very effective. I did it with a friend and he was the same level of fitness as me. If you just take it slow and follow it at a step at a time (you can even repeat the stages - as many times as you like) and slowly but truly you build up your stamina. So far, I am on week 7 and I can run for 25 minutes now without stopping. 7 weeks ago, there was no way in hell I was able to do this. the first week is , brisk 5 min walk (always start with this) run for 60 seconds, walk for 90 and repeat (about 5/6 times from memory) and then finish with a brisk walk at the end. Repeat three times a week. Week two, it is slightly increased (I can't remember the official timings off the top off my head but you can get an app for your mobile phone - I just have a blackberry but I got an APP for that!

Tonight, i'm off for week 7, day 2 - 5 mins brisk walk, 25 min run, 5 min brisk walk to finish.

What's nice is, I can now talk to my friend while I run (just about) and I feel sooooooo good when i've finished. I can assure you that C25K is possible for everyone. I have seen a lot of people use the programme with great results, all sorts of shapes and sizes! It has helped me build my strength and running stamina.

As far as weight loss is concerned, as long as you're not in too much of a rush then you'll be fine. My weight loss stalled for a while as i was building muscle, thankfully it is moving (for now) but I am just happy with how my clothes are feeling, take measurements. I forgot and am regretting it now.

Another programme I suggest you try (and which is something I am going to re-start again) is Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shread - if you haven't heard of it (and are you UK based?) try searching amazon for it. The results are AMAZING!! search the community section and you'll see what I mean - good luck Starrrgirl!!! When next year are you getting married? I got married 2 years ago (only feels like last week!) I wish I still had mine to organise and i wish i could do it all over again!!!

    good luck hun x :flowerforyou:
