Best scales to use on carpet

My house is fully carpeted - even the kitchen. I hate that but can't do much about it. My scales are on a soda box (one of those wooden ones) on the carpet but are still not too consistent. I have the Tanita Ironman scales. Does anyone know if there are scales that actually are accurate on carpet? If not, is there a way to make them accurate and consistent? I don't think mine are off too much - but enough to be distressing.

I suggest getting a piece of plywood to put on top of the carpet, big enough for your scale. A soda box might be sort of the same thing, but a nice, thick, 3/4 inch piece of plywood might really do the trick. I think it's going to be pretty hard to find a scale that's accurate on the carpet, unless you physically mount it to the subfloor.
