So, I just had to tell someone and since my family wouldnt appreciate this I thought I would post here.
I exercised yesterdat!!! See, this is most likely not a big deal to most people on here, but to me, it is HUGE!!
I started the C25K yesterday, and completed week 1, day 1.
This is a big deal to me, as I always sit and think about exercising, but I never, ever can bring myself to do it.
Don't get me wrong, I had a HARD time doing it, but I did it! And walked an extra 5 minutes! I have no idea if I will actually do this plan in 9 weeks, I have no problem repeating days or weeks as needed. Someday I would love to do a 5K. Someday...
Right now, I am using this plan as a way to get cardio, and I am happy, happy, happy.....and SORE!! But, a good sore.
I dont have a gym membership so I am brainstorming things I can do at home. Also, I have no idea how to use my DVD player, so everything just has to be things I can do on my own.
Anyway, WOOHOO for me!!!

Way to go!!!! C25k seems like it would be fun!0

yay! I totally understand, now all you have to do is keep it up for about 2 weeks and you start craving it.0

Way to go!
Don't let lack of a gym deter you, there is TONS that you can do with just your own body-weight for training, and house-hold items can double as weights etc if you really feel the need IE a 4L milk jug or old anti-freeze container full of water, sand, stone, marbles, dried playdough...rice... (if you do go anti-freeze route the water or food fillings won't be edible!) soup cans, mason jars etc will all give you something with resistance when you want something other than your own body!0 -
great job!
also i've seen people post that you can get exercise and yoga vids on youtube... might try that if you can't go the dvd route.0 -
Hey fellow C25k-er,

Great job! This is a good program. A friend and I did the whole program then ran a 5k together. The progress made over the 9 weeks is amazing. Don't get me wrong, it was hard and most days the ding to tell us to stop running couldn't come fast enough. But we did it! Now we are looking at the bridge program to get up to a 10k! Keep up the hard work, it is sooo worth it.0

Good Work! Keep it up. I did the c25k, had to do some weeks over, and didn't finish it in nine weeks. And I still cant run a 5 k under 30 minutes, but I can now manage to run for 40 which is huge for me! One day you will get there too! Just stay on it and listen to your body.0

That was me about 11 months ago! I started week one of c25k, and felt an amazing sense of accomplishment. And you know what? It only gets better! You're going to love the changes in yourself.0
