Did anyone see the episode this week with the weight watchers lady was talking about subtract one. You start out day with dairy, protein, carb and fruit, then for lunch you subtract the dairy, then for dinner subtract the carb. So you end up eating only protein and veggies for dinner. It was very interesting.

I watched it yesterday. I like the idea of having a buddy...it's a lot like our friend system here only it's just the two of you.

The subtract one is very interesting. Without really trying, it's kind of what I did yesterday....ending the day with chicken and broccoli.

I did see that. Seems like a great concept. Im so use to eating fairly small all day then heavy at dinner that I think it would be a hard adjustment for me.

I watched it and see how that could actually work.. I normally don't eat carbs after breakfast but i've been adding them to my diet since i watched and my scale was down 1.6 pounds... I can see how this would totally work :) Also think having a buddy would work.. May search for one when i get back from vacation :)

and what was the logic behind eliminating carbs for dinner besides veggies?

    ^^ This
  • I really like his show. I incorporate some of his ideas but that one, no. I agree with whoever posted that it can get complicated. The main problem I have is that I have calories left at the end of the day but already had enough protein and carbs and don't know what to eat! Keep it simple so you can live with it! :glasses:

It didn't seem too complicated to me....He just tries different approaches so every one can find something that works for them. I incorporate the helpful hints that I can relate to, and it helps me......I ( thumbs up for doctor Oz and his desires to help people to help themselves!!!!!!...............

Provided that your calorie input information is accurate, your total calories should be near-exact to the sum of your carbs + proteins + fats. They won't appear that way on your diary because the macros are listed in terms of grams (not calories), but when multiplied by the constant for each the total should still be your total calories. Thus, if you have calories left over at the end of the day, by definition you must have carbs, proteins, fats, or some combination thereof leftover as well.
