I started this diet in August and weighed nearly 290. I am a fairly large guy with broad shoulders and knew I was overweight, but thought if I could lose about 25 pounds I would be happy. Well, the 25 came off pretty quickly and I realized how much more I still had to go. So I reset my goal to 250....I figured I would be pretty happy at that weight and would look "good enough".
Well, I guess good enough isn't good enough anymore. The more I lose, the more I want to lose. My current weight is 243 and I have my new goal set at 225. However, I am fairly certain once I get to 225 I will need to go below 200. I have a certain image in my head of how I want to look...and 225 isn't going to get me there. Where I used to find dieting and the thought of weight loss torture, I now find it addicting! There is no way I am stopping until I get what I want!

"Good enough simply just won't do". Keep it up man. Sounds like you got the lifestyle change down. Now it's just a matter of time until you reach and surpass every goal you set.

  • Ugh, I wish I had your problem. I am stuck at just 4 lbs lost. 11 more to go. I have hit the mother of plateaus it seems...
Good for you though, I am glad you are enjoying it!

How tall are you? I am kind of gauging my goal on my height, the "basic" weight charts, and a normal BMI. I am there now, but I do want to lose 10-15 more pounds because I feel like more can come off my waist and thighs.

What's your BMI? That will give you a target range.

Sounds good. I think those mini-goals are the way to go - breaks it up so it doesn't seem so daunting.
