Modeling? I have been thinking about maybe doing some modeling to earn some extra cash but I was wondering if u pleasthought I was pretty enough to model? Im thinking I definitely need to tone up some areas but I was thinking re face and hair modeling.please be honest!

Yes, you are pretty. But do be careful. Just as there are get rich quick scammers on the internet, there are people who would take advantage of a pretty woman by claiming they have modeling clout and don't.

If you live in an area where there are modeling opportunities, go for it! You need to already live where there are legitimate opportunities or it will be a huge extra expense or a scam that could cost anything and everything including your life, so be WISE about every contact you make. Never meet anyone alone (go to a legitimate, working, STAFFED studio only), never get in the car with anyone you don't know, don't trust some guy wanting to do a photo shoot at his place.....be wise and stay safe.

I don't really think anyone is going to say, "no," but I think it comes down to a lot of things we cannot judge by a photo.

I am not too familiar with the field, but why would they have someone for simply modeling hair and face...when they have tons of tall, twiggy, 18 year olds (many of which also have nice hair and faces).

I think you are pretty, but most hair models are probably just regular models with wigs...^^

Go for it! You never know! Just a heads up! Modeling can be very brutal and harsh if you decide to do it make sure you skin is thick! I work in the fashion industry and it can be a bit harsh! Just FYI! but good luck! :-)

I think you should definitely go for it! On of the more prominent agencies, that has offices in almost every state, is John Robert Powers. They've produced big names and small, but they are a reputable agency that won't make empty promises to you and the will help you 'hone' your talents and skills. Best of luck to you! :flowerforyou:

you would be good for commercial modelling. I wouldn't try getting into fashion, it is BRUTAL. They want tiny girls with no boobs / no bum, just a blank to display their work.

Sorry, but you don't just "go get a job modelling"....
You have to find a reputable agency (which costs a lot), have professional headshots done (which costs a lot), go to numerous auditions/callbacks, get numerous doors slammed in your face....

People try for years and spend thousands trying to make this dream come true and you think you'll "just go get a job" modelling to make a little extra money?
It costs WAY more than it ever brings in unless you hit it big.

What kind of model? Face? Body? Hand? Feet? Hair? Eyes?

Really it all depends on the context of the photography. What is the photos being taken for. Is it underwear? Is it nail polish? Contacts? Sandals?

If you already know you are pretty, then perhaps you should get some professional photos done and approach modelling agencies. Based on the one picture of your face that I can see, you might be able to be considered for some print work, but it is a very competitive industry.

If you are serious, you will need to invest in the photos. Expect to pay a lot for them.

"Modeling" also includes standing in a bikini at boat shows or dressing sexy and handing out nightclub fliers - as well as ads for local businesses and hair shows and other things about 86 steps down from the runway. You can also contact ad agencies or places that do "stock photography".

These kinds of jobs are easy to get - check Craigslist for "gigs". If they won't interview you in public, take a friend. Also, get everything in writing.

in all honesty - i think only about 20% of models are actually "pretty". the rest are simply symmetrical.

try it. if you like it, great. if you don't, you gained experience.

Please, be careful. There are men that go around giving almost anyone offers and women fall for it all the time. I have seen it happen to a lot of girls. Modeling jobs as in promotions for night clubs, sport bikes, car shows, etc are relatively easy to come by but they don't pay very well. You also need to be prepared to be ripped apart, these people will criticize everything about your body so you need to have a very thick skin. Best of luck, be safe and use good judgment.

Let me start by saying that you are a very pretty girl

I disagree with some of the posts on here saying that it costs a ton of money to be a model.. I started modeling when I was 9 and still do occasional jobs here and there.. If people are asking you for money to represent you, IT'S A SCAM! DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT EVER pay to model. An agency or agent gets paid a percentage of the jobs that THEY get you. If someone wants to work with you and believes in you, you will not have to pay a dime..

As far as headshots go, there are plenty of photographers that want exposure and will do headshots and start working on your portfolio with you for free. Go to craigslist and look at photographers in your area that have a website and an established business and write up a letter stating who you are, what your goals are and ask for them to sponsor a shoot for you. Make a website (it'll cost about $10 a month) and offer to put their logo on your website and business cards. Vista print will make 100 free business cards for you. It's awesome.. Also, tell the photographers they can use your photos for promotional use as well. I have never had a photographer say no to that. They love exposure.

Start contacting established/trendy hair salons (Gene Juarez, Paul Mitchel, Seven Salon- not sure what's in your area) and give them your information and offer to be a hair model. You may have to start off by doing some free shoots/modeling jobs until you build your modeling resume.

As previously stated, there are thousands of people who dream of becoming a model and put so much time and money into it.. the key is to be be professional, take baby steps- don't expect to run before you can walk.. it takes time and work. Modeling is a JOB. Also, like someone said before, promotional modeling is great too. It's a great way to make some extra money. As soon as I get in a little better shape, I'm gonna start doing that as well.

There is so much more to say, I could go on and on.. but start with that. Make a free website, write a letter to potential photography sponsors and order business cards..
