Hi, i'm new here as of yesterday and very excited! I've been through alot to lose weight and never really simply tried calorie counting. When I joined i picked a number of daily calories with the ideal weekly weightloss.
I was wondering what other's were eating for daily calories if you don't mind sharing? Hope it's ok to ask.
I want to make sure i'm eating enough daily so i'm not starving! Thanks in advance!

I try and stay around 2300 NET calories on days I don't work or workout.
On days I work and/or workout I aim for closer to 2500 NET calories.0 -
Welcome to MFP! I hope you'll love it here!!
My diary is open if you'd like to take a look. My best tip: Eat something every couple of hours to keep your hunger at bay and your energy levels up.
Best of luck to you!0 -
The number of calories varies based on your age, height, weight, current weight, goal weight, activity level etc.
You will see a ton of people tossing around 1200 as some magic number, but for most people that is too low and anything less is definitely too low. I don't know your stats, so the best I can do is give you some guidelines:
Setting your goals based on weight you need to lose:
75lbs or more: Choose to lose 2lbs/week
40-75 pounds: Choose to lose 1.5lbs/week
25-40 pounds: Choose to lose 1lb/week
15-20 pounds: Choose either 1/2lb or 1lb
For instance, I have 15 lbs to go so I have my settings to lose 1/2lb a week. My daily net is around 1400 and if I exercise I eat most if not all of those calories back too. I wear an HRM with a chest strap so I know my calories burned is pretty accurate. If you don't have an HRM or you're using MFP to guess what you burned, I would only eat half of them back.
For my situation a lower carb diet works best so I changed my settings here to 40% protein, 30% carb, 30% fat.
I watch my sodium and changed it to 2000mg a day -- trying to get it under 1500mg eventually.
You'll need to play around and figure out what works best for YOU.0 -
My diary is also open - but I am not a great role model lately...0

Thank you so much! So much to still learn here! My diary was on private! I'm finding depending on the day, like yesterday i went over by 70 calories but accounted for it. The problem i was having on ww was i had NO clue how many calories i was eating based on the points system. That's where i was having a really hard time. For all i knew i could have been eating 800-2500? That's why i chose to come here!0
