Personally, I think she looks terrible. I wouldn't want to be that skinny. :noway: I have to agree with the one who said get her a cheeseburger.

While I also prefer the look of a little higher body fat, I wouldn't say she's unhealthy or has an eating disorder. Additionally, it's just as rude to suggest to a thin person that they need a cheeseburger as it would be to suggest to an overweight person they need to go take a jog.

I think it's a terrible photo and does no favours for her boobs, but while she is on the skinny side (a bit much for my liking) I don't think she has an eating disorder.
Based on previous interviews and other pics (such as the other skinny ones just shown) she just looks like she works out (Alot!) and has a lot of definition.

Also, while she's obviously larger in the photo for the cover of shape, and IMO looks better - that has been airbrushed the hell out of, the skinny photos I doubt have.

Sort of a complex issue. If someone had take a picture of me being fat and called me gross or whatever, I wouldn't be too happy. I don't pretend to know why she is so thin or into fitness, that's her business. I definatley prefer my women with more meat than that, but if she is training for something in paticular, she might not be as concerned about her looks as she does her performance. Would we look at a skinny long distance runner and think "Eeeew"?

If she is doing this for fashion or because of an eating disorder, then it's sad, but like I don't know why she leaned up so much, so until I see her barfing up her lunch on purpose or anything else, it's her life.

She says she eats, but I think she's in denial. Eating Eddie Cibrian is one thing... eating a full on meal is another. She needs more than just nut butter.

I'm sort of pre-occupied with my own looks to worry about hers.

Someone hand her a sandwich and her boobs, deflated party balloons.

Wow. I think she looks like she works out. Nice definition. Her arms look lean and muscular, her shoulders are awesome and her legs and abs terrific. The bathing suit does nothing for her boobs, but that's a fashion problem.

I dont feel it is the thinness that we are noticing, but that her body seems to have been hit by gravity ten-fold. There are plenty of good-looking women who are as thin as her...but they do not look like they are melting. ^^
  • Yeah... I think this has been photoshopped. Saw an interview with her recently, and it definitely didn't appear as if she was that thin.

True, I would not. To me I think posting this was more about "why" she looks like this. I'm not a big follower of celebrities and really could care less about their live but came across an article about Miley Cyrus gaining weight and being called fat, RIGHT before I saw this pic on the same news site. It made me kind of sick about how much pressure people have to look perfect and how many people try so hard to look good and lose sight of how they really do look.

you cant tell whether someone has an eating disorder just by how skinny they are.

they're both acceptable in my opinion
  • It's totally real. I've seen her on the Ellen show a few weeks ago and on entertainment tonight talking about her body issues. She weighs under 50kg now

Totally agree with this. I think people get the idea that it's okay to make comments about thin people because being thin (even "too thin") is more socially acceptable than being fat. Many people actually believe they're being helpful by telling a very thin person to "eat a cheeseburger." But ultimately, you're still making fun of someone's appearance, and it's still hurtful.
  • In my opinion, she looks too thin.
I think she looks better with a little more meat.
  • I would think she has to be eating to have the muscle tone. My husband is shaped just about like that, and he certainly eats. Also when people tell him he needs to eat because he is too skinny, he really wants to slap them. you guys are right that it is just as rude to call out skinny people.

Very true, you are right. We shouldn't assume all thin people are anorexic and need to eat a cheeseburger.

But I would like to say that LeAnn was never this thin before...she has just dropped the weight with in the last year or so. So I'm guessing she not naturally that thin and she is 'dieting' to stay thin. And although she has some muscle tone now....I think if she keeps on the path she is on, her muscles are going to start breaking down. Bottom line if she is restricting her calories to stay that thin she will wind up unhealthy....she's starting to look like Nicole Richie did when she had a drastic weight loss!

I was never as thin before as I am since dieting and working out. So does that make me not naturally thin? I should go back to my before pictures? And I don't think her muscles will break down if she's eating properly.

I'm kind of flabbergasted that people think she's too thin. Yeah, she's thin but she has some muscles. Probably couldn't do 135# snatch, but still.

Yea, it's real. Her husband and herself are almost constantly trying to convince people she doesn't have an eating disorder. They say she just takes fitness seriously and works out a lot. I think she looks terrible but... if she is infact healthy (body and mind) then go for it.

Didn't Brittany Murphy say the same thing? She died...

If you look back at what she used to look like at her NATURAL and healthy weight prior, you can see, this is not her "Set point/natural weight" which means, she is under eating to maintain it.
  • Someone please tell me this photo of LeAnn Rimes is photoshopped. Sad!

    lee_ann_rimes.jpg

That is real. But she talked about her body issues on a talk show a few weeks back, I think it was Ellen. I don't think she has an eating disorder, but I can't remember exactly what was said. But she did justify herself.

Yep, she said she was eating clean maybe even paleo. This pic does not look like it to me. She will probably come out sooner or later saying its a disorder.

I thought she looked pretty haggard at the CMAs...
  • I wouldn't want to be that lean however her abs and shoulders (illusion of smaller waist) look great - bikini top not so much.

I think alot of people are very critical of her but how many posts have you seen on MFP asking about abs and how to get definition. She doesn't have an hour-glass figure so her muscular shoulders make her look even more "boy" shaped.

If she's happy more power to her.

PS - That Shape cover isn't a straight on shot so who knows how lean she was and lets not get started with how "touched up" most magazine covers are.

THIS. So true. Eating disorders have little to do with someone's body. It's all in their mind.

True! It doesn't have to be an eating disorder but I think more importantly a distorded body image; thinking that she has to looks so so lean! There are other people who are lean such as Eva Longoria, Natalie Portman, Milla Kunis!
