So hubby decided to throw some venison and potatoes in the crock and now I have no idea how to count it. I am very glad that he took imitative to fix dinner but it's my first day back counting calories and I feel like I have this obstacle in front of me with this dinner. I am just going to eat the meat and fix some veggies to go with it and get over it! Sorry i just needed to rant.

Could you ask him for what ingredients he put in? You can probably estimate it.

Take him to the recipe page on here and make him enter what he cooked with. Then just figure out how many people it serves and you're done! :)
  • You could just individually add it up. Take the venison...then the potatoes...etc.

    1.) Ask ingredients used.
2.) Eyeball Measure (About a cup of venison. Half a cut of potatoes. Ect)
3.) Pick a median number for the items from the data base.

He has already left for work (works night shift) I am going to guess that he used 3 potatoes. It's all under control now....just had a OCD freak out moment. Thanks everyone.

I do all the weeknight cooking around here.I'll pretty much always save the packages or input the recipe to give the wife a total for her mfp diary. I usually know ahead of time, so I'll send her the numbers during the day so she can pre-log it.

It is not an obstacle. Just weigh everything you put on your plate and count it that way. If you really want to know exactly how he did it, be casual and very complimentary. He did a generous thing, grilling him over it is a sure way for him to never do anything nice ever again.

Plus, it's just one meal that someone you love made. Please enjoy it.

You are so right. I will count it as I put it on my plate. He was very kind to fix dinner for me tonight.

You have to remember that venison is much healthier than beef, pork and any other meat you get in the grocery store :)
