calories burned for cooking please help!!

hi guys, I work as a chef , and was curious to see if cooking was on the excerise tool, which is was so i put in how long I work for which is a 10 hour shift, and it told me that would burn over 1700 calories!!!! , so why am i not skinny!!!

    I might be wrong here, but I think you should just set your activity level to the highest and then not count your hours working as exercise. But, yes, I would think being on your feet for 10 hours and moving around would be a good burn...although, my mom's also a chef and she's overweight....

    You should change your activity level, work is part of your everyday.

    Yes i agree with what the the person above said.

    Alternatively you could wear your HRM for a whole day to get a better idea of how many calories you burn in a day. Then you need to calculate your deficit from that.

    I'm not sure though cooking would be the same kind of activity level as say building or gardening though. So the top level of activity might not be appropriate. So using the HRM would be the most accurate measure.

    Chef here too. I just set my activity level to the highest. Do not include it as a workout.
