Q about protein requirements for those who lift weights?

So far I've been following what MFP suggested and I'm thinking that it's too low for the weight training that I do. In your opinion (because I know there is a lot of mismatched info out there) how much protein is needed?

You should be getting most of your protein from your foods. But I do take a protein shake after my weight session, I use one from vital strength called Hydroxy Ripped. It delivers the protein straight into your muscle after a work out, but also has other agents in it to help burn fat from the muscle.

You can have too much protein which then will lead to liver troubles later on down the track.

My knowledge is limited, but I have been noticing massive changes. So I must be doing something right.

1 gram per pound of lean body mass (if you know it), .8 grams per pound of body weight if you don't

MFP defaults to 15% protein, I prefer to aim for what turns out to be for me 35% protein (goal of 1 gram per pound of [goal] body weight) and that's the percentage it took to get the matching goal grams.

1.6-2.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight seems to be the optimal recommendation.
    I found that here:
