Best McDonald's options....

  • Honestly... When I know we're going to be going to a fast food place. i hit the website of the fast food place and plan out my calories, etc... McD's and BK both have good nutrition info on their website and if I remember correctly (it's been a while) they even have a build my meal area to give you all the calories, maybe that's just BK. Not 100% sure. But I always have to throw out my sodium intake as fast food is just over the top. I've even planned my entire day's calories around knowing if I'm going to eat fast food for a day based on my decision of what I'll be eating at said FF place. That way I don't end up wishing I'd not had anything as I'm still hungry and oh look over my calories. Makes me feel in control of something that feels like it's a lost cause. hope that helps. Good luck! :)

The black coffee..and that's about it.

Hahah, in all seriousness...If you're in a pinch, I would go with whatever contained grilled chicken in as small of a portion as possible.

Ha Ha! I was thinking the same about the coffee. Honestly I question their chicken and the % of "real chicken" and % of fillers. Have not had McD's for about 3 years

grilled chicken snack wrap w/o sauce, side salad with low fat italian dressing (high in sodium so I ususally only use half), oatmeal, grilled chicken sandwich no mayo or cheese, fruit and yogurt parfait

The best option is probably to find another school that doesn't compromise their students' health for the sake of raising money.
Assuming that's not an option, eat real food before you go and buy a bottle if water if you feel obliged to buy something.

Aww... another reason I want to go to Australia.
Damn you McD's for not having Tandoori here!! :explode:

    Mains:
    - seared tandoori chicken wrap 319 cals

McD's has Tandoori? I'm going there for dinner now...

That is definitely not on US McDonald's menus...but I wish it were!

My take...Mickey D's is generally gross and horrible for you (except the oatmeal which I looove)...but if you don't eat it on the regular and you budget your calories for the day...eat what sounds good.

eta: just my own personal whining complaint...to get home I drive by (this is just the corner of my block): McDonald's, 2 taco shops, Popeye's and Jack in the Box. It's a nightmare when I'm hungry. Waaaaaah.

Maybe have a diet soda & talk to your daughter's school about better options of places to hold fundraisers. McD's is SO disgusting & so bad for you. I don't feed my daughter that kind of food & I don't think fast food really has a place in children's diets. Just my 2 cents..

That's really harsh. Schools have to do whatever they can to raise money. Attack the government for cutting spending, not a mother trying to support their efforts. I've done everything from selling chocolate, butter braids, car hopping at Sonic, or working Bingo to help our school out. She knows she doesn't have to buy anything but it might mean something to her child that she's participating.

I have never cared for McDonald's burgers/chicken. Just not my favorite place. Yesterday I met a playgroup for my daughter there. I ordered a Southwestern Grilled Chicken Salad. It was great! I finally found something at McDonalds that I like and it's not too bad for me!!! I would recommend it.
