just injured abs any suggestions for work outs

I just found out that I might have a hernia on the left side of my lower abdomen does anyone have any suggestions for some modified work outs. I can walk, and stretch some but the elliptical, stair master, and rower all hurt. I can't sit for very long either.

My doctor's advise was if it hurts don't do it. Right now that could be anything, I just need some help, any suggestions.

I have been trying to do strength and cardio twice a week.
