My HRM is broken! What should I do?!

Well, aside from the obvious "buy a new one" :P I have no extra money for at least the next half year, since my fiance and I are preparing to move into a new home...
But anyway, here's my dilemma:
I am currently in phase 1 of a P90X/Insanity hybrid. I was relying on my HRM for calorie counts, and ate my exercise calories back accordingly. Now that it's broken, though, I have just been logging my P90X strength training days as "strength training" in cardio exercises. For 35 minutes, MFP says I would've burned 100 calories. When I was using my HRM, it was giving me numbers ranging from 250 ~ 400 calories for each workout. If I rely on MFPs calorie counts, I end up feeling weak and lightheaded and STARVING at the end of the day.
What else do you folks think I should log this exercise as?
Any advice is appreciated

Since P90X is the same DVD's over and over again, if you've already done all of the DVD's, I would just use your historical calorie burn for that particular DVD. Granted, it's not going to be perfect, but it should be somewhat close.0

Why come it broke?0

Work out the average from the past when you used your HRM - and log it manually as that. Then keep your body in check - if you feel your a little weak - up it a smidge. If you're feeling good, try and drop it by 30-50....

My watch is in the shop getting a new battery. Today I did chest and back plus ab ripper X. I looked on the day I last did this workout with my HRM and just put in the same amount as the last time. And I just guessed for core synergistics yesterday. I know I burn between 350 and 650 each p90x workout, so I just put it in as 400.0

I would ask how long have you had it, and if there is any kind of manufactures warrantee. Otherwise, I would take an average HR and go by that....

Do what they all said, use your historical data from the last time you did the same workout.
Also, if your HRM is under 1 or 2 years old, write an email to the company and tell them whats going on and say that you want a rebate or something, maybe a reduced price on a new one. Be sure its not just the battery than ran out.

Recalculate your calorie requirements telling MFP that you have an active or very active lifestyle then instead of sedentary and it will increase your calories to eat. Then, no need to log exercise because you will be eating all the net calories you should be taking the workouts into consideration.0
