Hi,
I am 5' even weigh 123 pounds and 52 years old, I have my goal weight set to 115 but I am wondering if i should change it to about 120 pounds. It has been quite hard to lose weight, mfp has me set to lose.30 pounds/week. I am wondering if i should be concentrating on gaining muscle tone rather then losing more weight. Any suggestions? tips?
thanks

I'd try not to focus too much on weight and work on gaining strength-both cardio and muscle strength. Go from there!

Lean muscle burns calories faster so really they go hand in hand. Lean muscle is not going to bulk you up, so don't worry about that. I would say that anywhere between 115 and 120 is a good goal because your weight can fluctuate as much as 3-5 pounds in a given day anyway, you'll never be exactly 115 all day every day. Activities that create lean muscle will also burn calories and help you lose weight, and lean muscle will help you burn calories even when you're not working out, so it's all a WIN WIN!
