Short Term Goals

Today I reached my first short term goal, I saw 250 on the scale. Sure it was 250.8, but I really don't give a damn that 250 was really nice to see! In my head I heard, "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!" I totally would have yelled it had I not been at work when I weighed myself, heh. Anyways, now it's time to set my next goal. I think it should be smaller this time, because to get to 250 I had to lose a total of 52lbs (I lost some before I joined MFP).

So, I was thinking about this and I went and bought a new dress it's a Spring-ish dress so the goal is a ways off, but it's a size 16. I wanted to get a size 18, but I went to Salvation Army and couldn't find anything I liked in an 18. I'm currently between a 24 and 22, depending on the brand and style. I'm able to get the dress on, and zip it about half way up but it's pretty tight. Do you all think that a size 16 by spring is a good goal? Is it too big of one? I only really lost about 2 sizes with my 50lbs. So, I don't know really. Tell me what you think! Also...

This is the dress, the picture is not great but it's super cute. It's pale yellow with white sunflowers. I've always wanted to wear a dress like this, but have never been able to.

How many of you make short term goals? And reward yourselves for reaching them? I'd be interested in hearing your goals, and even more interested in hearing how you reward yourself!

I can't help with pictures but I wanted to say I just did a {{{HAPPY DANCE}}} for you. Congratulations on seeing that 250!:flowerforyou: As for your size 16 dress - I personally think that is an awesome goal. May I ask if you are doing any kind of exercise program? If so, with that and your new lifestyle of eating you won't have any problems getting to your goal. Activity is very important to all of us and I have found that even 20 - 30 minutes a couple times a week really helps.

I know you will get it. I hope to see you back here with more good reports.

Honestly, my exercise is my work. About 2 months ago I started a new job in a warehouse, where I am a "material handler". I lift, haul, pull, push, and walk walk walk walk walk... all day long. So I come home pretty sore. It's been working me out like crazy. Before I got this job I was exercising though, but now I'm usually too sore. But I am sooooooooo much more active now than I ever was. It's no problem for me to go out and walk around, I don't count it as a work out though I just do it. I've been thinking lately about how I can start actually working out, and I want to join the YMCA when I have the money, so I can use the pool. I figure that would be so good for me after work especially. I've also been thinking that when my body gets used to the work (which I know it will, I can already feel it coming) I will be more apt to work out after work or on the weekends.

Congratulations on setting goals and achieving such an important one! That's awesome!!!

I do set goals as well but only in so much as I work towards my next 10 pounds from when I started. I find I feel that is achievable where losing 40 pounds overwhelms me.

Do you reward yourself with anything when you reach your goal?
