Sorry if this isn't in the right place, but I neeeed help!

It's late and I don't want to go to the E.R. I'll call my doc in the morning. Any advice would help!

I sat down for work this morning and felt this strange "pain" in my inner right thigh. Kind of like I had pulled a muscle. It felt "tight"-- if that makes sense. I wrote it off, but the pain has gotten worse.

I now have intense pain that is radiating from my thigh into my hip and down to my knee-- only on one side. I had a sciatic episode once, and I'm trying to remember if this is what it felt like. I swear, last time it was in the back of my leg... like, under my butt. This time it is on the inside of my leg and radiating throughout my whole thigh and knee. It does feel like across between a pulled muscle and nerve pain, though-- not like something i remember experiencing in the past.

I have no swelling, redness, bulging veins or skin tenderness, so I don't think it's a blood clot. The pain is radiating into my thigh bone-- if that makes sense. It's not a super sharp pain-- for the most part, it's a sharp ache. It's certainly not dull. I can't tell if it's muscular or not.

It's getting worse by the hour, although it's not unbearable. It started off hurting only while i was sitting, but it is hurting no matter what I'm doing now.

Any ideas? I'm in a lot of pain here... :(

Have you tried a warm bath? If its muscle this may help loosen any knots. Also take ibuprofen (advil) or naproxen (aleve). I'm not a fan of Acetaminophen (tylenol) due to liver issues already in my families.

I am not a doctor so this is what I would do if I was waiting. Hope you get better and its nothing serious!

You should try icing the area where it started. Ice for 30 minutes on and 30 off. That may relieve some of the pain, until you see the doc.

Does anything make it worse or better (like changing positions, or elevating it, etc.)?

I agree with the previous poster. Motrin or Aleve, warm bath -- with epsom salt if you have it.

A warm bath will be okay if it is muscular or tendon / ligament, but, you want to figure out what it is. If you decide it is a pulled muscle, or a deep tissue cramp, heat, heat, heat.

If you decide it is a pulled ligament / sprain, Aleve / Motrin and ice, ice, ice!

Good luck! I hope you can get some relief!

i had a blood clot in my calf once. not really any pain with it...more of heat radiating from the area....maybe a bit of an ache. I wouldnt mess around with it though...it shot to my lung and almost killed me. If you feel heat (more than normal) then I would just go in to the e.r. I didnt have any swelling or redness so that isnt always an indicator. I hope everything is ok and keep us updated!

    I don't think I pulled a muscle... ugh... i've tried Aleve but it's no use. Also, it's 9 p.m. here-- can't call the doc. :(

i've tried Aleve but it's no use.

The point of Aleve isn't necessarily pain-relief. Aleve / Motrin are recommended for both muscle and joint pain because of their anti-inflammatory properties--pain relief is a "bonus". Even if you think it isn't helping, keep taking it every 4-6 hours until you can see / talk to your doc.
