I am looking for recipes that are cheap, fast, and easy. I work 50 + hours a week, and still poor. I am hoping for some stick to the ribs ones, as most of mine are fairly light. Now that its gotten colder I'd like some heartier meals Thanks

I thought this was going to be a job to apply for. I'm not very fast though.0

Number one: save up and invest in a slow cooker.
That said, slow cooker soups are amazing. My current favorite (and my husband loves it too!) consists of:
-1/2 cup chopped onion
-1/2 cup chopped celery
-10 to 12 baby potatoes quartered (or sixth-ed, depending on their size!)
-1 cup chopped carrot
-1 to 2 cups sliced (I like big slices, but that's just me!) mushrooms
-4 small chicken thighs (skin off, but use the dark meat as it will cook better) (optional - you can make this vegetarian!)
-1 can crushed tomato
-1 to 2 cups chicken (or vegetable) stock
Put everything into the slow cooker, and add spices that you like (my current mix is some cayenne pepper (ok, more than some, but I like spicy!), ground black pepper, garlic (lots!), ground mustard, and a couple bay leaves (take out before serving of course!). Cook on high for about 6-8 hours. EDIT: I start this in the morning and it's ready at dinner... so I can feel productive all day!
Pretty low cal, and very filling. I have served this to a lot of people, and haven't had any complaints!0 -
I agree with the slow cooker- you can stick that thing on low and leave it overnight, great for stews, curries, chillis, soups etc... buy one and get a good slow cooker cookbook.
In the meantime- heres a few links to some yummy quick, but hearty winter style recipes:
