Water retention..

So, I get that when people first start increasing their exercise, the body retains more water to keep hyrated and then balances out and you lose the water weight....
But how long do you have to be out of a routine for your body to do that water retention cycle again? I was sick for a week and didn't exercise, then I was away on holidays for about a week and though I did lots of walking it wasn't anything intense like my usual workouts. I've been home now for a bit and I feel like my body is retaining water like I'm starting all over again. Can someone make sense of this for me please?

Took me about a month to break out of that. The thing is...I got sick with bronchitis and won't be working out again until after Thanksgiving so it will be like starting over for me somewhat too. :noway:0

The longer you go without drinking all that water the more your body is going to hold on to it. Only way to get rid of that water weight is by drinking more water.0

and just when I was starting to remember what it was like to not have to pee every 78 seconds.0
