Measuring Height

How do you measure your height? Just by the doctor? Or do you do it yourself?

I was measured once at 5'10'', then more recently (but still a long time ago) at 5'9''. Both at the doctor's office.

My issue (and it's a small, pointless issue) is that on the BMI calculator (this is where the pointlessness comes in because I know they're just slightly unreliable tools) 5'9'', 5'9.5'', and 5'10'' all give pretty wide differences.

With 5'10'' and 5'9.5'' I am under the obese line (5'10'' by quite a bit actually) and 5'9'' I'm over by a few pounds. So being able to say I'm no longer obese would be cool, but I don't want to cheat, haha. 5'9'' under obese is just a few away, I know, but I think I'm just really bored right now.

Since it's in between the two, I usually just tell people I'm 5'9.5'' anyway.

So yeah, pointless post is pointless, but humor me and give your opinion? :flowerforyou:

you can do it yourself (have help works better

stand in socks against a wall and make sure you are standing straight put a book on your head touching the wall
then draw a line on the wall close to and under the book
    that will be your height
just the same as I used to do the kids

my height can vary by an inch - if I have been doing pilates including a spine stretch I am able to stand taller

you will also be taller in the morning than at the end of a day

That's great, thanks! Sounds way more accurate than what I was thinking of doing!
