 It's nothin to cry over... there's some people EVERY MONTH who nonstop complain about it and provide more details than anyone cares for:noway: ...that's life, suck it up -- we don't need updates every month...I don't see people talking about their bowel movements in grave detail...

    I''m just sayin! lol

Perhaps you could just skip over any and all posts that you don't agree with?

You realize that you rehashed TOM, right?

Here's a tip: If "TOM" is in the topic title line and you don't like to read about "TOM", don't click on it.
  • I thought TOMs were shoes!

Simple solution: don't click on any topic that includes the words TOM, cramps, bloating, or "Question for Ladies Only!!"

Pretty sure the op is a woman...

I am not ashamed of being a woman or fertility or my body or breastfeeding in public, but most of the Tom posts are more about complaining about it and making death threats against anyone who comes between the Tomee and her chocolate. Blah blah blah... It's not news, everything that could possibly be said about it has been said, and its usually way more than you would tell a stranger face Tp face. Most times I think women post details just to see who can be grosser.

It still amazes me that after 200,000 years of periods that I learned as much from health class as many women seem to know about the subject. IDK, how does a 30 yearld spend more than half her life with this situation and still has so many questions about it? It's mind-boggling. Or the pitty parties and excuses? Again, my wife has yet to ever use her time of the month as an excuse for anything.

I will say that as a woman I wouldn't feel to open talking about it especially on blog post where all can see. But the reality is that it affects our state of mind in some capacity.

Seriously women...unless Tom is an uncle, husband, relative, friend or boss PLLEAASSEEE stop talking about it, using it as an excuse and telling everyone in the world the details of your 'time of the month'. Guys I KNOW don't want to hear about it and most other chicks, like me, don't either!!!

Please join the campaign to stop talking about TOM! stop.png

    BLEH!
I think women should kinda keep it to themselves ...two women talking, thats fine. I hear a lot of women talking about it , the men must be like come-on!

thanks to the people who understand where I'm coming from...people talk about it in message boards that have nothing to do with menstruation...it can be a challenge group and then they go in grave detail about it...you guys act like I'm popping into threads/message boards specific to the topic and getting annoyed.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with discussing it, but discuss it in forums specific to it...and don't complain about it EVERY month - I'm a female, I understand where you're coming from, but you don't see me telling the world my cycle dates, all the symptoms, and play by play minute by minute updates on how its going...no one cares!

you guys are too funny...sooooo sensitive...yall must have TOM over now :drinker:

You know, if I were PMS-ing right now, I'd be really annoyed with this. But I'm not, so I get it, and I understand your frustration. I will do my part to stop talking about TOM. However, about every 4 weeks I will still need to discuss my Aunt Flow. She always shows up uninvited and really gets me in a *****y mood.

I used to work with a girl that kept an excel spreadsheet charting her cycle (not trying to conceive, just for interest's sake). That's neither here nor there but it did make me laugh.

That's actually a great tool for avoiding conception, too, if you know what you're doing and chart it correctly. There are some nifty websites that make it a little easier than using an Excel spreadsheet though.

Yep, this exactly. I've been tracking for almost 6 years now on a website. Not only does it make it easy to plan vacations in advance (we partly picked our wedding/honeymoon dates based on my tracking history, true story!), but it also is useful for health, since so many of my autoimmune illnesses kick off for hormonal reasons. And hey, when I try to conceive, I'll know my cycle inside out, and if I wanted to use the timing to prevent conception, I could. I highly recommend it!

I don't recall seeing any threads with gory details, but then I don't generally click on TOM threads.

Someone on my friends list made this complaint, saying that if we didn't stop talking about our TOM that he was going to start talking about his erections. Dude, when your erection makes you gain 3 lbs overnight, knock yourself out.

I do think some people are too quick to use it as an excuse for all sorts of things, but it definitely has a huge effect on weight loss any way you slice it. The cravings and lethargy and bloating are no fun, and I have a relatively easy TOM. It's like a little gremlin that comes along each month to make working out and eating healthy sound like hell on earth (and yes I know it helps cramps but it can be difficult to uncurl oneself from your ball of misery to start).
  • I think if I bleed once a month I would like to come to place for support, if it bothers you dont worry about it. Its like tv, change the channel.
