I'm wondering if the Body Bugg is worth buying? There's a good deal on it right now. How does it track your exercise or calories?

    Hi!

I don't personally own the bodybugg or the body media fit, but I did do a lot of research on them! They are supposedly one of the most accurate calorie counter/HRM's on the market, but you also have to consider the monthly subscription. Most deals come w/ a 1 year free subscription and I did hear from one MFPer who has one and mentioned that it's a good idea to gather your calorie burning data for 6 months and then sell it on e-bay! Which could solve the problem of having to continue to pay monthly in the future!

I just recently buckled down and bought the epulse2 HRM after much debate and some advice from my friends on here. It's not like the BodyBugg in the sense that it doesn't track your calories while you sleep and have a full program associated, but it's proven to be just as accurate as the HRM's w/ the chest straps, but it's only an arm band! It's also on sale if you're looking here's a link:

But to each their own... if you really want all of the extra I would google reviews and see what you think! Hope this helped! :)

I like the bodybugg... it gives you a 24 hour view of your calories burned. I log my food on here and use the bugg to make sure I burn the amount of calories I need to for the day. I eat 1580 and need to burn 2080 in the 24 hour period.

I really like what the device does and it really was helpful, when I could get it to work. I had technical issues with it and despite several calls to tech support (who were basically useless), I ended up returning it. I found many similar complaints about it online. I just thought you should get that side of things before you make such an investment. It did give me a better idea of what I was burning and how much MFP was overestimating my burn (a ridiculous amount). Now I have the fitbit and I love it. No technical problems and I find the burn numbers are very similar to what I got on the BodyBugg. I also had trouble with the Bodybugg irriating my skin (I have very sensitive skin), which is not an issue with the fitbit.

I've been using mine since the spring of this year. It's a useful tool for knowing how many calories you burn. I got a free one year subscription.

I like using it but I think eventually I will stop using it. I pretty much know at this point how many calories I burn now and how many calories I should be eating to either lose fat or try to gain muscle.

    Hope that helps!
  • LOVE IT and I have the 1st generation LOL! I need to upgrade and get the new, smaller one with the watch. You will love it! GET IT!
