When I'm setting my goals I have no idea how much protein I need? What do you guys use for your protein, fat and carb totals? is 45grams of protein to little? I really need to loose weight so I'm on 1200 calories a day but I excercise I eat the calories back. Any tips?
~I'm pretty new if anyone wants to add me, I would love it.~

I aim to get around 100g. But I don't focus on one specific number - a range is good. Between 75 and 125g would be about right for a woman doing strength training, aiming to be around 120-130 lb.

Try to eat an equal number of protein grams per pound of body weight. Multiply .6 by your body weight to get a rough estimation of how much fat you need in your diet. Fill the rest with carbs!

If you know your bady fat % then multiply your weight by the percentage of body fat. subtract that number from your weight and thats how many grams of protein you should be aiming to get per day.
Also .6 by your body weight for fat is way to high. I am not sure how much you weigh but you do need healthy fats just not over 100grams of it per day. PM me if you want and I can help you out. :)

Many people suggest .5-1g of protein per body weight. Or 1g per lb of lean body mass (your weight minus fat weight). I'm guessing 45 is pretty low. You didn't mention how much you weigh or anything so I'd say 75-100 would be a good range. I shoot for 150-200 a day myself but I am a larger male (175lb lean body mass).
