I don't use shampoo or conditioner, I use soap. Ahhh the benefits of being a guy.

I don't use shampoo either. It used to be biolage or john frieda's sheer blonde. Then switched to live clean. Now its baking soda and water to wash, and diluted Apple cider vinegar rinse. My hair has never been better.

I make my own cleaning products at home and add essential oils to everything! I'm all for making your own products it really does make sense! However I have always been scared about trying it on my hair! Maybe I will pluck up the courage once I'm at the end of this bottle! Here in the UK the apple cider vinegar doesn't come with 'mother' which I hear is the best bit! Does yours have that in?

It's so worth it though. I buy Kerastase, and it's expensive, but you don't use as much as you would less expensive shampoos.

I think I pay similar to that for mine from Crabtree and Evelyn. It's quite a big bottle. Also, I used to use loads of shampoo and conditioner but then I started using a tiny amount (read it somewhere) and my hair is so much better so I only go through 1 x 500ml bottle say every 9 months!

You were ripped off. I find by a million miles the best shampoo is Shea Butter from L'occitaine, I pay £11 (about $18) for it, and you don't need conditioner. It is amazing.

You want a shampoo with NO sulfates according to my hairdresser. Sulfates are bad. A inexpensive shampoo is Loreal Everpure, if you dont want to spend the money. I use Brazian Blowout shampoo. It is about 13,00 a bottle. I have thin hair so I need good shampoo. If I had thick hair I wouldnt be so picky.

Anyone with thin hair recommend anything?

I disagree. I have super thick hair and I need a really good, non-sulphate shampoo or I frizz like a *****

Is Brazilian Blowout by the company who owns the actual treatment? Is it sold for people who have had the treatment? I may look into this one. I'd love to have a Brazilian Blowout, but my hair is way too processed, or as they say "not virgin hair".

I thought that Brazilian Blowdry works best on processed hair? I got the treatment twice on hair that was partly colour damaged and it made such a difference.

So I just spent £40 ($63) on shampoo and conditioner....I think they may have seen me coming!! :noway:

And I bet your hair looks ^%&king fabulous. I spend about $20+ per 20 liter bottle, and I am never going back to supermarket shampoo.

I made that mistake a few years ago. Never again.

My favorite is either Pureology or Redken, both of which are pricey. If I can remember to stock up on the Redken Liters during Beauty Brands liter sale, I save a ton of money and am good for a long time.

But right now I'm using whatever is super cheap, and putting Redken styling products in my hair. Seems to be working out okay.

I've used no name acv, no mother in it, and braggs, which has mother. Didn't really notice a difference. I prefer braggs just because its not overly processed, no extra chemicals from processing in it. Organic apples, so no pesticides. I also have a batch of homemade brewing, but its a four month process. Should be done around Christmas, so I'll see how that goes.

I've heard that its better to just put a couple drops of EO on your hairbrush before you use it, since it can dissipate in the water/ vinegar.

Hmmm. Maybe I'm thinking of something else. I'll look it up.

That's pricey! I think I pay $6 for JJ baby shampoo. Cheep and works for me.

Brazilian blowout has formaldehyde in it. I would avoid getting it done.

The ACV with "mother" is best if you're taking it internally for health issues like sinus problems and digestive issues. If you're using it topically on your hair, the mother won't matter. It's just a probiotic, and your hair doesn't really need probiotics. It *might* make a difference if you're using it for acne, but I don't know.

Thats about what I spend on Shampoo & Conditioner. I only need a tiny amount, so it lasts for months. I've got long, fine, wavy. very greasy hair and I have allergys so have to be very careful what I use.

DAYUM! I think you may have been a victim of goldilocks pricing here (you know when they have a really expensive product to make the middle priced products seem like better value) they never intend to sell many of the top of the line but they do occasionally get one despite being only slight difference in quality.

oh wow! I don't even shampoo my hair anymore (except like, once every few months) and my roommate cuts it for me.

(About the shampooing thing, I'm tooootally hygienic, it's just your hair naturally regulates its oils when you stop shampooing. I still wash it with hot water, and baking soda if need be.)

I started using baking soda and vinegar instead of shampoo because I get an insanely itchy, flaky scalp and nothing has ever helped. It's been less than a month of no shampoo and the problem is all cleared up. And my hair is clean, but it doesn't get static-y from my fleece earwarmer headband. Winning all around.

I used to spend that much on hair care... then I changed careers to journalism and couldn't splash the cash  I now get all my toiletries from the 99p shop and my hair looks exactly the same.
