Liquid Diet, Curiousity

I've been thinking of a liquid diet... not all alcohol and not all juice either, just all liquid. Like milk can have 100 calories a cup... soup can have 200 calories a cup... Consuming 1200-1400 calories in all liquid... I wonder what the pros and cons would be...

I like a good solid poop, so I couldn't do that.0

Think about all the calorie burn you'd miss out on from not chewing....0

I know a girl, I dont know how much she weighed, but enough that she had to go to the dietary office here in town and under the supervision she went on an all-liquid diet and has been on it for a while now, shes lost 50lbs but I think she has around 100+ lbs to lose. Im not sure.
Anyway, I think liquid diets are good for those who have a lot to lose. If you dont have a 100+ lbs to lose (and still be considered overweight), and you go on an all-liquid diet, the minute you start eating solids again your bound to gain it back. The doctors main concern with the girl listed above was her over-all health, considering shes only 19. they want to get her down to a good weight and then they will start talkin with her over meal plans and etc. But until shes 100lbs heavier she has to be on the liquid diet.0 -
After having 2 major dental surgeries and being on a pretty liquid "diet" I can tell you from experience that it sucks. I am never full. Chewing and tasting the food with my tongue makes up a huge part of satiation.
Totally sucks!0 -

I'm with this. I had jaw surgery a couple of months ago and had to be on a liquid diet for a while and I was constantly starving.0 -
I would think that it would get boring after a while. I don't even know how people do shake diets (like a shake for breakfast, lunch and then make a sensible dinner). I think after a few weeks just the thought of liquid food would make me queasy.0

Everyone I have ever known who has done them, even physician assisted, has gained back all their weight within a year. That is just my experience with my friends who have done them... I don't speak for everyone.0

I don't see the point. Weight loss is calories in, calories out so I don't see why you'd put yourself through that. You'd be missing out on a lot of fiber too.0

When you walk your belly with go "glub glub glub" and when you roll over in bed it'll go "swish swosh swish swosh". Plus you'll pee every 36.7 minutes on the dot.0
