    After my long runs (10+ miles), I have a toasted english muffin with dark chocolate PB and marshmallow fluff. SO comforting and delicious!!

    Carbs before. Protein after. For me, a piece of fruit before if it has been more than 3 hours since I ate and almonds or a hard boiled egg after.

    I aim to keep my carbs at their highest prior and post workout. Protein intake remains above 30g for each meal.

    For lifting I have a fast carb and protein.
    For post I have a shake!

    The shake I love is...
    2 scoops ON Gold standard Whey
    1/4 cup blueberries
    1/4 cup strawberries
    1/4 cup oats
    1/2 cup almond milk

    Pre-workout snack:
    - Fruit (Banana or an apple, anything really) and a stick of string cheese. Or just string cheese alone if I've had a full meal 2-3 hours before. Slice of bread with peanut butter.

    Post-workout snack:
    - Protein shake. I use 1 scoop of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey with low-fat milk. Sometimes I add a tablespoon or two of peanut butter if I need help meeting my daily caloric requirement. (:

    I work out in the morning so I break my breakfast up. I have oatmeal with a tbsp of peanut butter stirred in before and I have a banana after I'm finished.

    Before a run a protein shake with banana (frozen to make it creamy). After a protein bar. Can't do the protein bar before a run because it makes my stomach hurt. But if I'm going to the gym, the protein bar is fine.

    So, I do my workoout at 5 am, should I be having a snack before my workout cause breakfast is my post workout "snack"
