I was wondering if anyone out here has tried the 17 day diet? I am not huge on fad diets but I would like a little kick start to get some more weight off. Ant thoughts? Thank you in advance.

Every study I've seen has said that in the long run diets are counterproductive. Once you stop, the weight you lost comes back.

If you need a jump start, work some interval training into your exercise.

I have several co-workers who have tried it and used it as a jump start just like you were mentioning. They said it worked great to get a fast headstart. Most of them didn't stick with it after the initial large loss but they loved it as motivation. Good luck

I saw it on Dr. Phil so I bought the book and read through it but it seemed a bit restrictive to me so I decided not to do it, but then again I LOVE LOVE LOVE my carbs and the first section was basically NO CARBS at all and I love having apples and peanut butter at night and the diet doesn't want you eating fruits afte a certain time, it wasn't for me, but I've heard of people getting great results on it... I say to each their own!

I liked the structure of the 17DD - The quick results gave me the motivation to change my eating habits where now it is more of a lifestyle change than a diet. I love all the fruits & veggies, lean protein & yogurt this diet encourages you to eat. You will not be hungry or feel deprived. I can't say I strictly follow it now - but I still use the diet's guiding principles and am much more mindful about what I consume.
