On June 1st, I couldn't run past 10 houses. Today I did 10 miles. I think i'm ready for the Disney Half Marathon in January. Thank you everyone at MFP!!!

That is amazing, and so inspiring! When I first started I couldn't run past my driveway without being winded and just 4 short months later I am running up to 2 miles at a time without stopping so I understand your amazing accomplishment!!!!
Good Luck and hope your marathon goes great!

That's amazing. Dec 1st I'm starting the C25K because of posts like yours. Never quit running. It's so empowering.

I know exactly how that feels! I did my first 10 miles just last month. There was no greater feeling like completing it. Once I was on mile 8-9 so much went in my head such as giving up or if I was a crazy person. Then I got up to 10.15miles and tears of joy!

Great job since you know you can do it, just remember that there was a time where it was nearly impossible!
  • Thanks everyone! Could not have done this without so much support.

You're doing AWESOME! I started the C25K a few weeks ago, and I felt like I was going to DIE!! But today I did W5D3: 20 minutes w/out stopping! Doesn't it feel wonderful?!?

What a great accomplishment! I started running in the summer too, and have done a few 5Ks. Did you do any special program to get up to the 10 miles? I know I can do maybe 4, not sure about 10!! My next goal is to run a 10K.

Thanks :) I really didn't do any official programs. Just every week I ran .25 to .50 miles longer. Before I knew it, I was up to 6 miles. I am now following the Jeff Galloway half marathon training program, as I am running in the Disney Half Marathon in January. And you can do it, believe me.
