Hey everyone

Being on a weight loss journey, the holidays can be tricky. I'd love to hear your plans/tips to enjoy thanksgiving without undoing all of your hard work.

I have a few things in mind:

* Double up my exercise by doing both a 2 mile Turkey Trot run in the morning AND my Jillian Michaels workout video in the evening

* Drink a lot of water before dinner, so I feel full faster

* Eat a very light breakfast and make Thanksgiving dinner my combined lunch/dinner

I also promise not to be mad at myself if I'm flat this week. I'm determined not to gain anything, but if I don't lose either, I'm okay with it.

What are your ideas?

Trying to really take the lifestyle change viewpoint. I don't want to fear or dread holidays. I'm going to keep to my regular exercise schedule and just apply the same portion control I would any other day. Focus more on the family aspect of the holiday and less on the food.

im going to enjoy that day and not worry about it.
  • I am going to just enjoy the day and not worry either. We planned to cook only enough for us (two adults and a 1 year old) so that we are not encouraged to make the next few days Thanksgiving as well.
  • I love your ideas so much that i will just stick to yours. lol good work out in the morning and small breakfast and then try to watch my portion sizes at dinner time. xoxo HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I inquired into lower cal/fat ingredients going into foods for Tday to my mom. She wasn't too over joyed with that idea so I just dropped it. It is one day. I set myself up for No Gain Holiday challenge with our local Y and to do Zumba for the Turkey Burn the day after. I am not going to stress or even concern myself with this day. I have committed to myself to workout everyday this week minus Thursday and just use it as a day off. I will limit what I eat for Breakfast, eat enough throughout the day so my blood sugar doesn't drop and call it good. Allow this to be a great day off and be thankful for all my many blessings. Christmas will be a repeat of the above. I know if I gain it is only sodium gain not a real weight gain, drink lots of water to help rid and control it. Plus I have been on a plateau for while maybe this will help break it!!! (hopes)
