There is no article that I could see. This link just leads you right to: http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/
Interesting ploy. I've tried Livestrong. It is alright, but MFP is way better in my opinion.
It leads to a video for me.0 -
Oh sorry! I copy and paste it from the Yahoo website, it was a video of a guy who lost a lot of weight, his story... his Dr. asked him what he wanted in his obituary, that's what made this guy lose weight0

Yeah, I got a video too. I personally think it is a shame that this man is handing his success to this Dr! The video talks as though the blunt things the doctor said to him were what made him lose the weight, not what I imagine was years of hard work and willpower. I personally think the doctor was just in the right place at the right time - he had just had a huge health scare which is often when people frin the motivation to lose weight. Well done to him though, he looks great.0

Thanks for sharing - impressive.0

He probably had several health scares with doctors telling him to lose weight, I kinda learn the hard way generally, so I can totally see how the blunt comment would have kicked his butt0

I got a video too. Great story0

Great story and I think even if the doctor just said one thing to him to get him started in losing weight it is a great thing. I just think too that it was because of him that he did lose so much weight and I am sure he got a lot of support from his family too.0

Funny it's kind of the same situation that started me on my journey with MFP. My BP skyrocketed to 210/132 three weeks ago and the doctor said there is two things I can guarantee you if you don't get your weight in order 1)you won't make it to 50 and 2)it will be a very painful journey there. He also told me my heart is showing signs of enlargement. That was enough to scare me. I didn't even get discharged from the hospital before I signed up...So far I'm down 10 pounds in the 3 weeks I've been here. That's a bigger weight loss then I accomplished all of last year.
Sometimes it takes a brutal awakening to make you see the light. Happy success everyone.0 -

They said he lost the weight over three years and it'd be great if we had more back-story: how quickly or slowly did he lose the weight, apart from walking did he do any other exercise, did he follow a particular food and nutrition plan or did he simply cut down. I guess I'm more interested as men often tend to approach weightloss from a completely different angle than women.0 -
That is an awesome story!!! Of course I would LOVE to see more about how he did it but if most of us are honest we all have our own AHA moment. I started shortly after someone at church congratulated me on expecting again. My beautiful daughter was 15 months old and I was NOT expecting. My tummy is still too big and "out there" because of 2 very large pregnancies but no one asks if I'm pregnant anymore!!!0
