As she was talking about someone else and described them as pleasantly plump, I said and what am I? I know when I filter my short height and weight when I was 148, my BMI showed me borderline obese. I'm now at 155 and I haven't got any taller. It is hard to look at one self and say yes, this is where I am at - now what am I going to do about it? Heart disease runs in my family, I'm scared of this and the possibly becoming a diabetic. I have to have blood work done in the next two days for a yearly check up next week, which I have mixed feelings about. I have gained and lost for years, but have never been this high in my weight for a doctors visit. Okay back to the subject, my mom didn't answer immediately trying to nicely state what she would say and then says I was pleasantly plump as well - I said hmmm mom you paused. She then says you do need to loose some weight, and I know you are trying. I don't hold it against her, I know I kind of put her on the spot. Sometimes, we just need to hear the truth. I started the 30 shred today but lost it with food again this afternoon. My lunch plans fell apart and I was famished by 2:00 pm, when I hit the kitchen. Tomorrow is a new day and I've made a good food plan, so I shouldn't have an issue with this tomorrow. By the way, just to introduce myself - Hi I'm Bonny!

Does your body say you are fat?
My problem was nobody said anything to me!
They said I "hid it well."
    =(
    All better now!
    =D

Your post hits home with me too. I just recently had a baby. My 6 year old asked me if I still had another baby in my tummy because I'm still so fat. Ouch. I fall apart with my eating despite the best of plans in the morning. So tomorrow is another day and I'll do better. We all will, because we're here, trying, learning.

Mom's want you comfort you but have to keep you healthy too! For me, the key is to limit carbs and increase protein and healthy fats. That helps balance your blood sugar and steer you away from diabetes and heart disease.

Hi Bonny! I'm sure that your mom wants you healthy, and possibly was pausing to think how best to say something...perhaps knowing it would pinch a little? As a mom, I know that sometimes the things I say to my kids does hurt their feelings...but I think it is better to hear it from me, rather than me glossing over it - they know that they can trust me to tell them the truth. (Yes, I expect the same from them - and they can be brutally honest!)

On the up side...yes, tomorrow is a new day, thankfully! You CAN do this! I know when I first started about 5 weeks ago, all I could think about was food! I still have days like that...but, I have started seeing the scale go the right direction (south) and thinking about the weight lost (and also about how I feel AFTER I binge) helps me to go do something else, rather than stuff food in my mouth.

I am finding this so easy, I even have ice cream every day. The key is smaller portions and planning ahead. I have a Sara lee wheat bread ( only 45 cals a slice) sandwich with turkey and cheese everyday for lunch. It fills me up and it's really good! I usually have a low cal breakfast, and that leaves room for me to have the same supper as my family, and a snack like ice cream before bed. I log EVERY BITE. That goes in my mouth. You CAN do this. It's not a diet. Eat what you like. Just weigh and measure your portions. I am not an expert, but this has been the only plan I could stick with.

    Protein = fuller longer.
Have a high protein daily intake with healthy fats as your 2nd focus.
Fill the rest in with carbs.
    Water
    Water
    Water
If you need specific numbers you can find a ton of sights on how to set macros!
    Or ask one of us!
Several friends of mine are now doing higher calorie diets and taking a pound off a week and their tummys dont rumble!

Hi Bonny, Welcome to the best journey ever. You will learn so much along the way. You will take detours and then get back on track. But its all good. I am a slow loser been here over 12 months now. I lose some find it and lose again. But I have just looked back and a year ago today I weighed 121.5kg and today I weigh 94.1kg. So I am losing and my diabeties is now controlled by diet and exercise. I am currently also doing the 30DS. huffing and puffing my way through.
