It is possible to exercise too much? Here is my current workout:

Monday AM - Wii Gold's Gym (25-55 minutes)
Monday PM - Zumba (60 minutes)
Tuesday AM- Wii Gold's Gym
Tuesday PM-Elliptical, Treadmill, Weights (60-75 minutes)
Wendesday PM-Wii Golds Gym
Wednesday PM - Zumba
Thursday AM-Wii Golds Gym
Thursday PM-Eliptical, Treadmill, Weights
Friday AM-Wii Golds Gym

All told I average 85-130 minutes a day and no planned exercise on the weekend. But here for the last week and half or so, my body hurts! I am not sick, have no known physical ailments, so I think I may be putting my body through too much. The current routine has been in place about a month. I use the personal traininer mode on the Wii Golds Gym and it gradually steps up the workouts throughout the 3-4 week cycle.

I know you are supposed to rest and I thought I was doing that on the weekends, but I also was told that if you go more than 3 days without working out, it's like starting over. HELP!!

Advice? Suggestions?

I started out exercising about 6 times a week. Yes the weight came off but a little slow and i hurt all over. I then went to 3-4 times a week and it came off faster and i feel alot better. If you are sore and tired. Cut it down a little.

It doesn't seem like too much in general, but it could be to much for you at this time. Listen to your body. Soreness is ok, but you shouldn't have real pain. Make sure you are using good form and that you aren't using weights that are too heavy for you. I've never done Wii fitness, but hopefully the programs show modifications you can follow if the exercise is to difficult. It is much better to practice a modified exercise with excellent form than to practice a harder exercise with poor form.

I spend about 13 hours a week at the gym and typically go 6 days a week. I usually do 5 spin classes per week, 2 Yoga, 1 Pilates, 1 PiYo, 1 BodyPump. The other time is on the stair climber or treadmill. I try to take 1 day off at least every other week for rest. I gradually worked up to this exercise regimen. When I first joined, I only went 2-3 days a week for 60-90 minutes. When I started I did 1-2 spin classes per week, 1 pilates class and the rest of the time was spent on the elliptical. I slowly transitioned from the original regimen to what I do now. I never intended to work out this much, but I love it. I want to add new things, but I am not really willing to give up what I already love.

I am sore after a good workout, but its a good feeling. My muscles have worked and they are recovering. It doesn't feel like a "bad" pain.

"if you go more than 3 days without working out, it's like starting over" - definitely one of the more ridiculous pieces of "advice" I have heard.

Recovery days are just as important as exercise itself. Why don't you exercise on weekends? Move one of your "off" days to Wednesday when you really need it, and then pick up the missed exercise over the weekend.

You also might want to think about working "smarter" and a bit harder. I only do about an hour a day max (exception being when my run schedule calls for 6 miles or more then I easily hit an hour plus a couple times a week) but I hit it hard when I do. Maybe increase your intensity on the treadmill/elliptical or your incline/resistance. Or drop a couple of the Wii workouts for something else.
