So I am going to a 1 hour spin class tonight at 6:30. I will get home at 8:30.

Should I have dinner at 5 or 8:30.

Thanks in advance for your opinion. :drinker:

  • Oohh, that's a tough one. If it were me, I'd probably have a protein drink or bar around 5:45 then a very light dinner when I got home.

Depends on what you're eating. I can't eat a high protein dinner unless its at least two hours before exercising. So I do carbs before workout protein + carb after.

    Exactly!
I would do a high carb meal before going to the gym, then enjoy a nice protein or recovery shake after. Protein and carbs within the first 30 minutes post exertion is a great way to feed those tired muscles and give them something to grow on. Really it is the first 60 minutes but the closer you get the more nutrients go to your muscles, and they need them after a good spin.

Think of your muscles like little mouths open looking for protein to get leaner, and carbs to replenish glycogen stores. You will recover faster and stronger.
