Loosing the battle.......

So the Holidays are creaping up and so are the pounds. I am starting to realize that i am slowly becoming a failure at my weight loss. I really thought that I could loose this weight and actually keep it off, but I am just fooling myself. In the past week I have gained back 5pds and all because I got too comfortable and decided that I wanted foods that I really should not eat. This is going to be a really depressing holiday if i keep going this way and I am struggling to stop it. Also I have felt like my support system has gone away as well, so I am just lost.
Sorry for sounding so depressing but I just needed to put this down in words, maybe to show myself that i need to stop and look at what i am doing, put my self back into perspective. I really could use some advice for those who have been at this point in thier weight loss journy.

Don't forget how far you have come, 45 lbs lost...ok so 5 lbs came back on but you know why they came back! Life happens and there are some foods that we just don't want to give up, so fit them into your calorie goal. Pick one day in the week that you will have 1 serving of what you have been wanting. It just sounds that you are struggling to find balance between the healthy and the not so healthy foods. Also, the day(s) you want to have a little bit of naughty food, do a little extra in the exercise department. Be determined to make it work and then work it girl! Don't stop, Don't give up, you're not done yet! You can do it!

With a negative attitude, you will lose.
You can do this. Get to work.0 -
You need to come up with a plan you can stick to. You don't have to deprive yourself of the foods you really want, just make sure you are adding in foods your body needs. If you like a bowl of cereal for breakfast but you eat eggs because you think you should then you'll fail. Track everything that you eat, just make sure you are eating things you enjoy. If you've had lots of veggies, lean meats and whole grains through the day then after dinner you want a piece of candy and if fits in your calorie goal then go for it. Make sure through the winter months you are exercising or exercising more than you were before.0

Stop giving up on yourself! The only person who can continue to wage the weight loss battle is you. Yes its great to have a support system, but you should be your number one cheerleader. So start today, make better food choices, do some exercise and get back on track. The holidays will only be depressing if you allow them to be by giving up on yourself because it got hard. Push through, fight back, and know this this is a LIFESTYLE change, not a diet. It is going to be hard, you will have bad days, but if you stick with it, you will see results. Its a marathon, not a sprint!
Good luck!0 -
I know how you feel. My back went out again, and after a week of being very sedentary and with nothing to do to pass the time but eat, I gained five pounds last week, too. It’s very depressing because it took me six weeks to lose that five pounds, and only a week to gain it. But I’m looking on the bright side. If I hadn’t of lost that five pounds to begin with, I’d still have gained five pounds and I would weigh ten pounds more! So here I am, rededicating myself to eating healthy (at least until Thanksgiving, LOL, when failure is inevitable for me). I guess Friday I’ll be back on here trying again. Just don’t give up! If everyday that one eats badly is a failure, then everyday one eats healthy is a win! One day at a time…0

Do not give up!
I know where you are right now and exactly how you are feeling. Last year I had lost almost 30lbs and in one week I gained back 6lbs, I was so frustrated and upset that I let myself quit. So now here I am back over a year later trying to not only lose that 6lbs I put back on, but also the other 30lbs that accompanied it over the year. I know that it is very hard to stay motivated, especially when the scale is moving the wrong way, but don't let yourself fall off the wagon for a few lbs. Keep doing what you're doing and keep exercising and you will come through this season just fine. Don't give up on the foods you love, just eat less of them and work out a little harder on those days to make up.
Good Luck, and remember just keep swimming!0 -
You aren't losing the battle. Think about this as not just the weight loss. Think about the bigger picture.
Have you lost your weight by making bad food choices? Not a lot of folks successfully lose weight making bad food choices.
Have you been exercising and doing good things for your heart, muscles, bones and organs? Even if the scale doesn't move with exercise it is good for your heart, muscles, organs and bones.
I got a lot of motivation by walking in my neighborhood, no earphones, just me, my walking shoes, my pedometer and my exercise clothes. People would see me everyday walking past and after a few weeks they became some of my best cheerleaders. Especially when I would walk by in the pouring rain with no umbrella. "That is dedication!" "I can set my watch by you!" Look for the small things and the big picture will reveal itself with time.0 -
Please don't give up. You have done so much already. If you slide back, you will have to lose it all over again. You don't want to have to do that. Pick yourself up, wipe yourself off and get back on the wagon! Friend me if you need support, but know this - I can be brutally honest if I think you are slacking :noway:0

No! Don't give up! You can do this!
Everyone hots a plateau, everyone loses motivation at some time or another, and everyone gets tired pf the struggle.
But just look st how far you've come! 45 lbs is awesome! Not everyone is that strong!
Find some new motivation and stop worrying about what you gained. You can't move forward of you're stuck
