PCOS and Body Fat

So even though I have lost almost 40 pounds..I am still sitting at 30% body fat. My nutritionist has me on a Paleo diet.. I have lost the last 7 pounds doing that..but have to wait till December to see if that helped the bodyfat move. I am almost at my UGW at 135..but wondering if that will be enough to lose the 5% BF that the dr office wants me to be at...

Are there any others out there who are frustrated with the pounds coming off..but not the body fat? I can't be the only one.

I don't know much about PCOS but I will say that when I was at 132 lbs I was still 30 % BF. It took a lot of weight training for me to drop that number. I'm sure it's different for every person, particularly women. But if you stick with it, it can change.

I watched my BF % SLOWLY inch down while my muscle mass inched up. It helped me to get a BF scale (I have the EatSmart Precision GetFit Digital Body Fat Scale) so I could track all of my numbers. Then I added categories in MFP for tracking Water, BF, and Muscle Mass. Seeing these numbers gradually change helped keep me motivated to try harder.

Now, I'm at 17.7 BF% and can actually see muscle definition. Stick with it. It's totally worth the effort.

Yeah. About 3 years ago I lost about 30lbs. Once I got to that point, my BMI stayed at around 28-30 and I couldn't lose anymore. I even had a trainer and was working out almost every day. PCOS can be VERY frustrating
